The blog where I keep a record of some citations that I particularly like, mostly in English, has been censored. I am not sure which one of those little great things enraged the readership, although my bet's that is was either a sentence by Kant, a boobie (with a poem by a politician!), a fist, or the picture that hides behinds "Strange Fruit, a song by Billie Holiday. Whatever the case, be warned that you are reading lines written by the scum of the net: me, who now dwell the dark corners of the virtual world with my friends the pedophiles, the nazis, and the lovers of gore cinema. So much for the love of art.

The picture is by Richard Avedon, showing how hurt I am by this judgement of several readers (not the same as the ones who read this blog). I was going to post a pic by Mapplethorpe, but decided to behave ... this time.

Censured?!
I guess academic writing is not for the faint of heart!

This country has such weird prohibition/obsession issues with womens bodies. A breast can truely create a national scandal while so many other issues are overlooked.
Somehow a naked body became offensive?
Is Canada at all similar?

Hi Laia, it's been a while! Nice to read you around ... :o)

I'm not sure about Canada's attitude towards the naked body. My impression is that it is more liberal than our neighbours down South, but like the US this is a big country and there's a bit of everything. Also, I interact mostly with people who think like me and wouldn't object to having their children seeing a nice & respectful picture of a naked body. I'm afraid I live in a bubble of nakedness-loving people!!
